The easiest way to start, scaleup and complexify your organoids culture base on anchoring point technology

SmartSphero Plates microstructured hydrogels is designed for simple and consistent spheroid formation and the hydrogel shape provides a microenvironment which enables the cells to sediment and self-aggregate within hours

Contact points enabling:

– to prevent organoids loss during medium exchange;

– to easily track organoids along the course of the experiments

Fig 2. Time course of 1 single organoids grow in the SmartSphero Plate. The anchoring point technology allow to easily follow the growth of each individualized organoids as they remains immobilized inside the structured hydrogel. This increase the statistical power the analysis as each organoids becomes a data point (t-test enabling).

SPECIFICATIONS

STANDARD MULTIWELL PLATES WITH MICROWELLS FOR SPHEROIDS’ ASSEMBLY:

6, 12 and 24 well plates, with micro-well size of 14 mm or 10 mm

Each plates’ well has 19, 55 or 91 individual microwells where spheroids are cultured

The microstructured hydrogel are made of biocompatible polyethylene glycol

Optionally the microwells can be coated with an ECM matrix to increase the physio mimetism and adherence of the spheroid to the anchoring point

The gels are preserved in a water based solution to keep their mechanical and optical properties

Mesenchymal Stem cells (MSCs) seeded in a 3D structured hydrogel designed for controlled spheroid formation (SmartSphero plates).
Seeding density: 3000 cells/microwell.
The video shows the initial stages of spheroid formation, including cell aggregation and spheroid compaction, followed by spheroid growth in the days following compaction due to cell proliferation.

FAQ

Each SmartSphero Plate (SSP) comes in individual packaging

The SmartSphero Plates (SSP) are compatible with glass bottom plates for 6, 12, and 24 well formats, with micro-well sizes of 14 mm or 10 mm.

The size of the spheroids or organoids after culture typically ranges between 150 µm and 500 µm.

The SmartSphero Plates (SSP) have an expiration date of 1 month.

Store the SmartSphero Plates (SSP) sealed at room temperature.

Organoids can be collected at the end of culture by individually pipetting them or through enzymatic digestion.

The SmartSphero Plates (SSP) alone do not support vascularization. Vascularization can be achieved using the CubiX platform.
